Spanish term

capacidad patrimonial

Not my area At first sight, all of the six solutions proposed so far looked like potential candidates to me. I gave up accepting financial texts years ago because of things like this. Different clients may use different terms for the same thing, which can be confusing and required too much research time for my liking.

neutral philgoddard : I don't think this is quite right - as your reference shows, 'net worth' implies how much money they have, not where it comes from.

I think it's as simple as this. The context is the prevention of money laundering and other financial crimes.

agree Shilpa Baliga : Yes, it's just this!

neutral AllegroTrans : I don't think this is quite right: "capacidad" suggests ability/standing/potential etc.

It's not about ability or potential. It's about how much money they have, and whether it was legally acquired. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_your_customer
neutral Luis M. Sosa : Certainly close, but patrimonio = net worth (or assets minus liabilities).

financial standing; creditworthiness

does sometimes overlap with capacidad crediticia: creditworthiness, West, but surely contrasts with capacidad moral as non-financial and reputational standing.

Compare in FRE: la surface patrimoniale et économique.

For a change, proprietary doesn't figure as a permutation, though equity-related might do.

Example sentence:

The selection criteria make it possible to assess the applicant's *financial standing* and operational capability eur-lex.europa.eu Los criterios de selección permitirán evaluar la capacidad financiera y operativa del solicitante ..

capacidad patrimonial

https://www.proz.com/kudoz/english-to-serbian/law-patents/60...

Note from asker:
Exactamente, Cristina. Gracias!
