In relation to dismissal for breach of a contract of employment. Would I be right to translate this as 'a settlement will be paid in respect of dismissal' or do I need to be more specific?

I agree with Mary that 'transaction' has to be 'settlement agreement', as it may involve more than a simply payment, however I think it should be 'dismissal', not redundancy, if there has really been fault on the part of the employee. In the UK, at least, 'redundancy' has definite connotations of 'letting go by mutual agreement', usually with reasonable cash compensation, whereas dismissal is more like 'sacking' - getting rid of someone.

Another suggestion. "Dismissal" has stronger connotations of the employee being at fault.

: The asker did specify that this is a dismissal for breach of contract, so 'dismissal' should be fine in this context, as the employee IS at fault.
