Picking up the pieces after another translator overestimated what he/she could do before a deadline. It is a mixture of informal e-mails between patient and doctor and serious medical Latin reports of treatment and progress (or lack of it...) Suddenæly the deadline came, and there were still a couple of dozen small gaps and twelve whole pages to translate. Or perhaps the translator was ill, had an accident, something like that, and had to give up, I don't know. I have heard stories like that before. Must get back to it, to finish the job before the extended deadline I negotiated: there is an impatient client waiting!
