Source text - English The number of individuals 65 and older is increasing in the United States. A relevant impact to the aging population occurs between 2010 and 2020 when “Baby Boomers” begin turning 65. It is expected that the number of individuals 65 and older will increase from 12.4 to 19.7 percent. The state of Kansas parallels this increase of older adults, except in rural areas. In 2009, Wichita’s senior population was approximately 52,000 citizens between the ages of 60-85. Not only will older Americans experience challenges in transportation, it is anticipated that there will be social, cultural, and financial challenges while “Aging in Place.“ By 2030, twenty percent of our adult population will be senior citizens, age 65 or older.
As we continue to work in partnership to develop “Livable Communities,” innovative strategies for transportation must remain at the forefront of community dialogue, not only for older adults, but for all generations.

Un impacto relevante sobre la población de edad avanzada tendrá lugar entre 2010 y 2020, cuando los "Baby Boomers" empiecen a cumplir 65 años. Se prevé que el porcentaje de personas de 65 años de edad o más pase de 12,4 a 19,7 por ciento. En el estado de Kansas se observa un aumento similar en el número de personas mayores, excepto en las zonas rurales. En 2009, la población de personas mayores de 60 a 85 años de edad en Wichita fue de aproximadamente 52.000 ciudadanos. However, as with any entertainment facility, our guests’ experience is only as good as the employees make it. Responsibility for ensuring that guests have a positive entertainment experience in a world-class facility rests with all members of the Pirates Team. When I was 14 years old and enrolled in my first year of translation and interpretation courses at the Central University of Venezuela I knew that I had made the right choice.
