I am a Brazilian freelance translator and I work with English > Portuguese language pair.
I hold two Bachelor’s Degrees, one in Languages (English-Portuguese) with a major in Translation/Interpretation (1988) and one in Administration with a major in Foreign Trade (1997). I also hold a Graduate Degree in English Translation (2014).
I have started studying English when I was very young and since then I’ve been improving the language attending many courses, such as Wise Up and Cultura Inglesa, where I achieved the Oxford English Certificate.
Concerning my professional experience, I worked for many years in Banco Santander Brasil S/A, a multinational financial institution, and performed in the areas of Settlement Credits Department, Corporate Finance, International Division (Administrative and Credit Limits departments) and Foreign Trade/Foreign Exchange Department. By working many years in a bank, I gained a significant experience in banking operations, foreign exchange operations and foreign trade, payment orders investigation, Swift messages, Swift Alliance System and activities related to Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism.
My experience in translation, version and proofreading, as part of my activities performed in the bank, mainly in the International Division, consists of: texts, documents, Swift messages, e-mails and magazine articles in banking/financial, economics and foreign trade fields, the bank’s Annual Report, participation in some events, accounting and credit meetings of the company as a translator / interpreter.
Currently, I’m always looking for new challenges as a freelance translator and my fields of expertise are: banking/financial/accountancy, business/commercial, economics, foreign exchange/foreign trade and journalism.
Other fields of interest in translation are: advertising, marketing, education, tourism and literature.
The quality of translation work has a great importance to me as well as confidentiality, meeting delivery deadlines, effort, dedication and professionalism.
Availability to work: eight hours a day.
