Full-time translator for more than 10 years, mostly in German -> English, English -> German,

but also from French, Dutch and Afrikaans to English/German.

Areas of specialisation: Law (legal education: 1st and 2nd state exam in law (Germany), post-graduate degree in European law, B.A., LL.B. (South Africa)), business & economics and technology. 

Examples of recent/current practical experience:

participation in a 800k-word translation project (German -> English) on spatial development and planning for German scientific institution (my share: approx. 200k words)

participation in a 300k-word translation project (German -> English) for AI project

regular translations for offshore wind farm developer (German -> English) (legal, technical and in-house documentation)

part of free-lance translation team (English/French to German) for European Parliament (4-year contract)

contract for the use of software/privacy policy (English to German, 17k words) etc.


Subtitling - translation and subtitling of numerous documentaries on broad range of subjects (German/French -> English) for German/European public broadcasting companies since 1990s
