French term

droits sociaux

French to English Law/Patents Business/Commerce (general) SAS - Simplified Joint Stock Companies
There is a Kudoz entry for this term and I understand what is said therein. However, I am trying to apply the same interpretation to my context (which is talking about the advantages of forming an SAS (Simplified Joint Stock Company compared to forming a public limited company (SA) and am wondering how best to re-order the sentence to express it neatly (up to 'droits sociaux'):

Elle (the SAS) permet de bénéficier du régime juridique et fiscal des valeurs mobilières pour les droits sociaux et du statut fiscal et social du président-directeur général tout en se libérant des contraintes et du formalisme de la SA.

Just to say... ...so far I agree with Christopher's and Mary's answers, which both make sense to me. Thanks to everyone in the meantime.

shares (and associated rights)

Nothing to do with social law / welfare here. That wouldn't make any kind of sense given the preceding "régime juridique et fiscal des valeurs mobilières"...

"droits sociaux" in this context is "corporate rights", i.e. shares/voting rights/dividends.

The tax treatment of share transfers and dividend payments differs between the SA and SARL. Hence one of the advantages of the SAS over the traditional "private" corporate forms.

social benefits

I suppose that's what is meant....
Peer comment(s):

disagree df49f (X) : voir réponse de Christopher - rien à voir ici avec social benefits or employees right - ici, social = corporate/related to company (eg mandants sociaux, capital social...)

ownership rights

Nothing to do with benefits. I have also seen "corporate rights".
