French term
réveil à quai
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Transport / Transportation / Shipping
Railway signalling system
un ou deux PIRS avec leur implantation de type "approche" ou "réveil à quai" (cf.§),
Discussion
Without more context, the only sensible thing to do is to downgrade to "not worth bothering ..."
If Asker would chime in with more context as requested, guesswork could be upgraded to brainstorming.
that would fit with "being activated on an approaching movement"
while ""réveil à quai" could be "activated when the train reaches / is on the platform"
However all this seems very plausible, without more context, it's only guessing ...
It is difficult (impossible?) to understand the term, or to do effective research, without more context. In providing context, you have to remember that you have the complete text and we do not. So you need to convey something of the overall context to us. Then you need to indicate something of the context directly around the term.
What we know so far:
- transport/shipping/railway signalling
- problem with the term "réveil à quai".
What is being transported? Is it relevant? Is this part of the text connected to shipping or connected to signalling?
Another big problem, in addition to "PIRS/PIRs" which we can only guess at, is that your context is part of a sentence and without a verb.
Please could you post more context, including the term in a complete sentence?
I get some hits for PIR UMROD railway station but that is probably completely irrelevant, but w/o more context...
