Discussion

BrigitteHilgner Mar 7, 2013:
Siehe Duden (24. Aufl.) bland (lat.) Med. ... ruhig verlaufend (von einer Krankheit)
TDVTrans Mar 7, 2013:
a tricky one I was thinking something along the lines of "irritation-free" or "non-inflamed" or maybe even simply "well-healed", but I'm not a medical expert. Hope this helps.

well-healing wound

Als Alternative, könnte fast besser sein als mein erster Vorschlag
Peer comment(s):

neutral Harald Moelzer (medical-translator) : "well" is too specific IMO - "bland" simply says 'normal/standard'

inconspicuous wound

Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Milton Ling : Except that I would use "well-healing'".

I would too, but if its a letter between two doctors they may prefer a more profesisonal sounding term

normal wound (healing)

...while

""bland/non-irritated wound""

would be short literal translations (rarely used though).

"wound shows no signs of irritation" would be another option.

Vielen Dank, Brigitte :)
neutral Günther Toussaint : Viele Ärzte würden vermutlich sagen: Es gibt keine normalen Wunden...

this is not about normal wounds but about 'normal wound healing' and infections are just one possible problem. Doctors would never call a necrotising or hypergranulating wound a 'bland' wound (although there would be no infection)

neutral Harald Moelzer (medical-translator) : too specific IMO - "bland" simply says 'normal/standard' // just take a look at one of the > 500 k hits when searching for "normal wound healing"

There are no standard wounds...or are there?
agree Cilian O'Tuama : Bunjes agrees "(reizlos) bland / (steril) sterile, non-infected"

wound healing nicely

I remember asking this before and would either go with "non-infected" or this - which is what is really meant and is what would actually be said here
