French term or phrase:
recette pour la réception
English translation:
handover acceptance (testing, inspection, etc.)
For me "recette" and "réception" both mean "acceptance" in this context.
I'm rather tired so I might be missing a trick here. :)
Could anybody please shed light on this for me?
Many thanks.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.
Proposed translations
acceptance / handover
'réception' means the final handover, once all the problems have been sorted out; in this sense, it is close to 'delivery', as used in other fields, or the notion of 'goods inwards'.
Do note, however, that these terms are sometimes used wrongly in FR, when used alone, people get them confused, and when used together, sometimes even reverse them completely! So you may need to be guided by the logic of your text as well!

: With the reservation that handover can be subject to some minor problems being resolved within a fixed period of time.

Thanks, B! Yes, absolutely! Clearly, there is a whole other level of detail, but I didn't feel it was appropriate to go into that here until the basic concepts were set out.

acceptance testing vs acceptance
validation/verification process for (final) acceptance (or rejection)
I think you undergo a verification/validation process before actual "acceptance"
recette = verification/validation process
réception = actual acceptance

I hope this helps.
acceptance for turnover
