Induration ou fragilisation ;
Brèches anguleuses ouvertes ou cimentées ;
Matériaux durs massifs (calcédoine) ;
Matériaux ductiles (serpentine, deweyllite) ;
Cavités, crevasses éventuellement comblées par des éboulis ;
Circulation d’eau.
Colluvions, encaillassement, verses et remblais

"These occur on some of the beaches as pebble deposits which are protected by .... be considered an extra piece of geological equipment for research purposes."

"The Budleigh Salterton Pebble Beds, about 30m thick, are well-exposed in the cliffs west of the town. They form a red coarse conglomerate, poorly cemented but with a firm matrix of speckled coarse sand. The Pebble Beds are distinctive in being a thick deposit with well-rounded pebbles of quartzite. Sand lenses occur within the pebbles beds. The Pebble Beds are overlain by a red sandstone, the Otter Sandstone."

Admittedly, I have not found any French refs to "encaillassement" as a geological feature. Hence the low confidence level. Perhaps there is a French geologist out there who could shed more light on this?

on.
I have also seen "encaillassement de route et chemin", so given that the above is a mere 20cm, this must mean a gravel/pebble bed.
