When one has a problem with one's archiving software one "logs" a support call. A new term in English (for me) and the only translation I can think of is "enregistrer" I can't find a relevant French translation online.

Nous utilisons ce terme dans notre société (informatique) quand nous prenons en charge un appel. Par exemple: quand je suis en clientèle, j'enregistre un appel au service informatique parce-que je demande une solution à un problème quelconque; ils ont besoin d'un numéro d'appel pour pouvoir affecter le temps qu'ils passent dessus.

understand what it is about before copying your glossary entries, and check "log a service call to the company"; That might be more useful than you dumb disagrees.

En pratique on envoie un email au service de support ou bien on remplit un formulaire sur leur site et on reçoit par email un numéro de référence informant que le problème a été pris en compte et sera résolu dans les plus brefs délais.
Ce numéro de référence sera mentionné pour toutes les communications ultérieures relatives à ce problème.
J'utilise envoyer parce qu'en pratique on envoie un email ou bien un texte saisi dans une zone de texe
