French term

préjudice soumis au recours des organismes sociaux

French to English Law/Patents Law (general)
In a court judgement as to personal injury in a medical malpractice case, one of the items of damages awarded by the court was:
préjudice soumis au recours des organismes sociaux: $$$ francs.

Any ideas what this means?

Thanks,

Harold

loss/injury subject to compensation from welfare bodies

See link below, the case about a 22 year old man.

Basically, it seems to be the amounts that a person will be eligible to claim/has claimed from various welfare organizations (medical, employment etc) as a result of injury.

loss sustained subject to the appeal of social security bodies

This means that the court says this is the amount of the loss but it may be changed subject to any appeal ("recours" ) by the social security bodies.
