In other words, English. But when my husband was alive, he said I talked in Portuguese in my sleep. Once he reported that I had said (in Portuguese): "Me Jane! You Tarzan!" | | | Melanie Wittwer Nowa Zelandia Local time: 15:12 angielski > niemiecki + ...
I dream in images, not spoken language. It's true.

Mostly in Portuguese, but also in French (frequently) and English (rarely). I even dreamt once in Japanese (I don't actually speak Japanese: does that seem like a case for Sigmund Freud or what?)...

Like Melanie, all I remember of my dreams are images, people, actions, etc. - no spoken language (I may be aware that something has been said to me, but I never remember any direct speech). | | | Patricia Charnet Wielka Brytania Local time: 04:12 Członek ProZ.com od 2009 angielski > francuski
it's mostly the language I use with the person when I dream and if dreaming alone can be both either English or French - depends on context and what I've experienced during the day or event | | | Not aware of the language | Feb 11, 2012 |

The language I dream in depends on the subject and the location of the dream. If it's something requiring German, I'm dreaming in German, if it's English related then the dream's language is English. Sometimes the dream's language is a mixture of several languages. This is only when there seem to be no images, since images are the main "dream language"

I usually dream in Spanish, my source language. I sometimes dream in English, and have been told to speak in English in my dreams. Also, when I'm working in complicated translations, mostly working in Excel files such as comparing, I dream of reading both Spanish and English sections and comparing them to match them. I call these dreams my nightmares. Regards, Elías
probably on the language I am mostly speaking in the period of the dream.
I am a TV serials addict and I mainly watch in original language (English). After 6 episodes I sleep and dream in English. Of couse, I dream of the actors/actrists in the serial:) Fun though, I watch new episodes in my dream.

Apparently I haven't acquired source-language-dreaming ability yet.
