Hi Russell
Partial answer I'm afraid. I have hunted around a little but all I can come up with thus far for EPP is expanded polypropylene, which is presumably irrelevant, or epoxy powder paint, which may be more relevant if your author has expressed himself rather poorly. The way it is written it looks like a welding technique, but I've never heard of it in either English or Italian. On the other hand, it would be fairly standard practice to apply an epoxy powder coat to a metal drawer I suppose...
Cheers
Derek

I did eventually find a few English websites referring to EPP spot welding; there was no explanation but I felt safe enough using it. Thanks.

Dear Russell,
I found EPP in Eurodicautom translated as equal pressure points and thought this could make sense. Good luck!
