Take your pick. It really depends on the tone of your context.

You might want to simply leave it out. After all you have already said "leader".

Or you might want to say, "The leading companies, guiding lights (in the sector) , become ambassadors ..."

leading lights

I would combine "faro" and "leader" into one. I think "leading lights" is more common in this context than "guiding lights" or "beacons".
