Routledge Tech.: "asc. à piston plongeur" = plunger elevator.

disagree Tony M : 'plunger' possibly (though frankly I have doubts) — but certainly NOT 'plunging'; a terrifiyng prospect! / I'm afraid Routledge is a bit like the curate's egg: "good in parts"; just tricky if one seeks to rely on it :-( (I was researching sthg else!)

Question asked 10 years ago! I must have had much more faith in the Routledge Technical then, that's all gone now! / Maybe Routledge bit off more than it could chew trying to take on everything tech. in a single volume (albeit only in one lang. comb.).
