Para la traducción al español creo que conviene describirlos físicamente, como "estrechamientos" o "estrechamientos laterales" (porque no abarcan el fondo). Otra alternativa es traducirlos como "deflectores" (elementos que cambian la trayectoria de fluídos).
"carcasa" y "casco" son dos de las principales denominaciones del "shell" en los jacuzzis, como es facil verificar en Internet. También se usa "revestimiento", pero es inexacto, porque el shell incluye todas las capas que lo componen.
