German term

im obersten Belastungsabschnitt

German to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
Der Blutdruck startet bei 125/75 mmHg und beträgt im obersten Belastungsabschnitt 220/79 mmHg.

The blood pressure starts at 125/75 mmHg and reaches 220/79 mmHg in the uppermost exposure segments? Doesn't sound right.

Context Some more context would certainly come in handy, though.

Probably.
Steffen Walter Dec 24, 2020:
Is this about ... ... a stress ECG test on a treadmill or bicycle ergometer? https://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/guide/stress-test#1

If so, this might be similar to https://www.proz.com/kudoz/german-to-english/medical-cardiol... - 220/79 mmHg at the terminal load level?

at high exercise intensity (=at maximal and submaximal exercise intensity)

This is stress testing (aka cycle ergonometry, endurance exercise testing).

They're looking at how bloods pressure changes with increasing exercise intensity (exercise-induced hypertension) This patient had a baseline BP of 125/75 mmHg, which rose to 220/79 at maximal(peak) and submaximal exercise intensity (= high exercise intensity).

Peer comment(s):

agree Steffen Walter : I'd say "at peak exercise level/intensity" (it's the "oberste" rather than the "obere Belastungsabschnitt").

Yes, I read it too quickly, thanks for pointing it out, it is indeed "at peak...(funny, I spent some time trying to incorporate the "submaximal" part into the phrase b/c I read it as "obere")
