French term

POUSSER-POUSSER VERT--->>>A EPUIS

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng boating supplies
This curious entry is in a (vast) wholesale catalogue of sailing and boating equipment. If you search on the exactly quoted term you get pictures of switches, but none carry the description POUSSER-POUSSER. I'm guessing it's the on/off push switch in the first illustration. As for --->>> A EPUIS, any guesses?

Yes jusqu'à épuisement I've had independent confirmation that "A EPUIS" is a known abbreviation for jusqu'à épuisement as Tony suggests.
claude-andrew (asker) Oct 14, 2020:
@Chris Thanks for starting my day with a chuckle Chris!
Tony M Oct 13, 2020:
@ Asker Ah in the light of Emanuella's reference, I wonder if it means something to do with a bilge pump? That's another related mening of 'épuisement'...
claude-andrew (asker) Oct 12, 2020:
@Althea Thanks - you may well be right.
Althea Draper Oct 12, 2020:
Pousser-pousser vert Here's one that's called a 'pousser-pousser' in this link. It looks like a push on push off switch.

Bashiqa Oct 12, 2020:
@ Tony Looks a distinct possibility
Tony M Oct 12, 2020:
@ Asker Possibly more like '(jusqu')à épuis(ement)' — "while stocks last"
Bashiqa Oct 12, 2020:
@ Asker Could be a discontinued line or selling at a discount until out of stock.
Wait for others to have a look.
claude-andrew (asker) Oct 12, 2020:
Yes, that's what I guessed too - but a bit strange to see it in a catalogue.
Bashiqa Oct 12, 2020:
@ Asker A EPUIS - Epuise - possibly Out of Stock

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : 'Last stock' would scarecely be idiomatic in EN — and 'solde' isn't even EN at all! Please make sure the glossary entry is corrected.

Rocker switch

If it is push-push, could it be a rocker switch?
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : Unlikely, there's a special name for that; I think this is the type of button you push once to activate, and then again to relase; either it latches in or out, or else electr(on)ically it operates a 'toggling' function.

You could well be right, I`ll get back to suicidal patient.
neutral chris collister : Neither rocker nor mod, but push-on, push-off. NowI think I'll push off.
