7.1 Cryptographic Controls
• All company owned laptops must be encrypted.
• All information stored at rest on company owned portable media devices (e.g. laptops, smartphones, and portable storage devices) must be encrypted.
• Passwords should be protected using the latest industry accepted best practice cryptographic measures when transmitted across the network.
• Communications that transmit company information from a trusted zone (e.g. corporate network) to a semi-trusted or untrusted zone (e.g. third party cloud provider) must be encrypted.
• Email should be encrypted using the latest industry accepted best practice standards.
• Data transmitted over wireless networks should be encrypted in line with current best practice security standards.
• Remote access tunnel sessions must be encrypted.
