Is this possibly something to do with a fluorescein eye stain test that is used for detecting a damaged cornea or foreign object in the eye? As far as I understand it, *färgbarhet* is a clinical finding. Fluorescein dye highlights injured tissue during an eye exam.
Example sentence:
The superior cornea had localised green fluorescein staining, indicating an epithelial defect in a location frequently associated with a subtarsal foreign body.
