Swedish term

markeringsgång

Swedish to English Medical Medical (general) orthopaedics
Can anyone help me with what the above means in English please? Is it something to do with defining the gait as a patient with a fracture/break improves while in plaster?

Example of a similar context quoted from a doc on Google below:
Om frakturutseende, skelettkvalitet och fixationen är god samt patienten kan ta instruktioner så tillåter jag **markeringsgång**...
Thanks in advance

Vad menas med markeringsgång I googled the above and found a document ("Fotledsfraktur") that says "Markeringsgång: Du ska markera steget och vila benets tyngd mot golvet och gå med två kryckkäppar alternativt rollator." Could not link to the document. Hope this helps.

weight bearing gait

or perhaps "partial weight bearing gait"
Peer comment(s):

disagree Katarina Kvarnhult : "Markeringsgång" means slightly touching the ground without putting any weight on the leg. In your article this is called "Toe-touch or touch-down gait". In Swedish you can also say "att markera stegen"..

In the reference in my discussion entry it says "vila benets tyngd mot golvet". I understood this to mean more than slightly touching the ground.
agree Michael Ellis : "partial weight bearing gait'"could be a compromise between Katarina's and Noprskpro's understanding. See https://www.litegait.com/content/protocols.
