Italian term
Fotolito
Italian to English
Other
Printing & Publishing
In the credits of a book:
"Fotolito e prestampa: Mr X and Ms Y"
I have found both "Colour separation and prepress" and "Photolitography and prepress" but in both cases only in translation. Anybody know what would usually be used by a UK publisher?
I've looked in about ten different books not found anything quite like it.
I did find "colour origination" and "colour reproduction". Could it be one of those? Or "image setting"?? Or is it just "lithography and prepress"? This isn't really my field...
Thanks!

Prepress is the term to describe all of the processes that occur before printing and finishing. Since many publications nowadays are published both in print and electronically, many refer to the shared processes as premedia services instead. - http://www.prepressure.com/prepress
