Swedish term

teckningsoption

Swedish to English Social Sciences Finance (general)
Det här verkar vara ett lite klurigt ord att översätta. Enligt en del är "warrant" den engelska motsvarigheten, medan andra hävdar att så inte är fallet då warrants (ordet finns även på svenska) är värdepapper och inte avtal (såsom optioner).

Det som avses är dock något som gör det möjligt för innehavaren att köpa aktier i ett bolag till ett visst pris när detta bolag introduceras på börsen.

Tack på förhand!

Discussion

Deane Goltermann Nov 14, 2015:
Can be warrants Can be other types of securities, the correct translation depends on the exact nature of the paper you're context describes. This is a word that dictionaries can only provide suggestions as to what to look for. From your general statement, these look like warrants, but could be employee stock options, for example. Look at the definition in your context - who is getting this paper, why, and for what consideration. Then look at the definition of warrants vs. the various kinds of options possible to see what fits best.
