German term

BII

German to English Medical Medical (general) Doppler ultrasound
The following text appears in a report for an extracranial/transcranial Doppler exam:

Diagnose:
M2 Teilverschluss a.e. embolisch links

Diagnosen:
AV - AV Stenose od. Verschluss d. A. car. externa --> D III
BII - BII Grössere Plaques --> D III

At the very bottom of the report there is a summary:
IMD ACC re 0.9mm; IMD ACC li 0.9 mm; elongierte Gefässe; echogemischte Plaques im Bifurkationsbereich und in den Abgängen.

Could BII be referring somehow to "Bifurkationsbereich"? Thanks for any help.

barbarameyer Sep 9, 2015:
@ Jessica Klingberg a. Do we read the queried abbreviation as B-'2' or B-double-'L'(i.e, 'L' in the lower case) or B-double-'I' (i.e., the vowel 'i' in the upper case) ?
b. What does D III denote?

Billroth II, more formally Billroth's operation II, is an operation in which the greater curvature of the stomach is connected to the first part of the jejunum in a side-to-side manner. This often follows resection of the lower part of the stomach (antrum). The antrectomy (resection of the stomach antrum) is not part of the originally described procedure. The surgical procedure is called gastrojejunostomy.[1][2]
