German term
Isolierung zur Brustseite
German to English
Medical
Medical: Cardiology
this text is from a patent titled "Implantable indifferent electrode"
Die indifferente Elektrode kann entweder als blanke metallische Wendel vorliegen oder die Wendel kann eingebettet sein in einen mit Öffnungen versehenden Schlauch aus Kunststoff, vorzugsweise aus Silikon. Die Öffnungen befinden sich auf der dem Herzen zugewandten Seite. Dadurch erfolgt eine Isolierung zur Brustseite.
I´m having trouble wrapping my head around the last sentence in this paragraph.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Proposed translations
(English)

3 | laterally | Lirka |

front side
"Chest side" might do but the problem is, in English "chest" means the whole cavity. So "rib side" might be a possibility but there are ribs in the back too.
10 hrs
insulated towards/from the outer side, skin, breast (side)
Other options.
"The tube openings are directed towards the heart, such that the electrode is insulated towards the breast", if you want the whole sentence. (Some English native might offer a more elegant solution ;-)

15 hrs
laterally
how about just saying "laterally"?
1 day 17 hrs
insulation towards the ventral side/sternal side
if anatomically exact terms are an option this context...
