English term

Nice!

Non-PRO English Other Other
Savor the taste of fresh fish in xxx! Nice!
Saver the taste of fresh fish in xxx! Hurah!
Saver the taste of fresh fish in xxx! Yummy!

Nice, Hurah, and Yummy are cries.

Yummy is rejected by an English speaker.

I think Nice is accepted. Is that so?

Thank you.

Thank you very much for your comments! There is no context. Other sentencess are such ss Come to xxx. You are always welcome!
Yvonne Gallagher Apr 3, 2014:
context is all-important. Yummy would be fine in some contexts as BDF has said. Hurrah/Hooray would not work except in very limited circumstances.

You could try "mmm... nice!" http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mmm
or as Charles has said, "delicious!"
B D Finch Apr 3, 2014:
Context? As the Asker has provided no context and as this is marketing, where the intended audience and context are all-important, it is impossible to know what would be the best slogan. E.g. "yummy" could work in a context where the intention is to evoke a memory of childhood treats or to offer permission to the consumer to be childishly unrestrained in their enjoyment. "Nice" is liable to be too restrained for many contexts.
Victoria Britten Apr 3, 2014:
Hurah -> Hoorah! ...which is a bit strange in this context.

'Nice' is better than 'Hurah' and 'Yummy' ...

It's 'savor' in the U.S.A. but 'savour' everywhere else ...
NOT 'saver'. I'm sure it's a typo.
Note from asker:
I am sorry, but David agreed with Nice.

"yummy" is a bit childish so that's probably why the native speaker rejected it but it would be ok if that's the target audience the text is aiming at ...

and 1045 is right to point out that "savor" is US English as opposed to "savour" = UK English

Or Delicious!
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : I think I'd go with "Delicious!".

neutral Suzan Hamer : But I do think Charles should post "Delicious!" as a very good answer. (Or "scrumptious," "heavenly," "delectable".)
