Hi everyone,
I'm having a lot of trouble translating 'pertenencia' in the following sentence:
"Las Juntas de Acción Comunal han sufrido un cambio satisfactorio y esto se ha visto reflejado en la pertenencia que han tenido al elegir sus representantes de JAC y su preocupación por tener todos los papeles de la JAC actualizados."
I thought it might be 'sense of belonging or unity' but every Spanish person I ask about it seem to give me a different suggestion that doesn't make sense in the context and some think it should be 'pertinencia'.
Any ideas? Thank you so much!

and this can be seen in their having moved decisively to appoint their representatives to the JAC
Or "elect" or "choose" instead of "appoint," as the case requires.
I think that "pertenEncia" may be a typo for "pertInencia" here, and seems to have the sense of "appropriate action in response to a particular circumstance."
