I am translating an article about business and NGOs working together for developement. I am stuck on the phrase in this sentence. If anyone has a suggestion I greatly appreciate your help. This is the opening sentence to the concluding paragraph.

"Amortizada" is being used in the sense of "written off", used metaphorically. Here are other examples of similar uses of the word:

Pues bien, esa interpretación puede darse ya por amortizada. Porque, utilizando ese mismo concepto pero dándole la vuelta y poniendo el foco en el fomento del crecimiento, ahora sí que tenemos ante nuestros ojos la verdadera "coherencia de políticas": integrar a las grandes empresas en el sistema de cooperación para apoyarlas en una expansión global que, a su vez, es lo que traerá el "desarrollo". Pero, parece obvio preguntárselo, ¿para quién?
