French term
décision déférée
French to English

Law (general)
Cour d'appel
Hello,
I just want to ensure I understand correctly here:
Does this last sentence mean:
"Hereby upholds the judgement made by the lower court"?
Many thanks.

appealed judgment
David Wright is basically right... but "décision" is such a context is definitely "judgment" -- see Bridge.
NB French legal terminology is quite "picky" about types of judgment: "arrêt" can only be for an appeal judgment, whereas "jugement" can be any court. I'm not sure about "décision", but I think it's just synonymous with "jugement".

This might help with "déféré":

One might say "the submitted decision," but that might be less clear than "the appealed decision."
