Italian term

Proposta di destinazione del resulto di esercizio

Italian to English Bus/Financial Accounting
Clause title:

Basically its inviting the shareholders to approve the accounts.

It's the word "destinazione" that is bugging me. I suppose there must be a set translation.

Thank you, Jim. I have only just seen your reply to my question. But I've learned something else so it's good.

proposal for the allocation of profit for the year

They usually allocate it to reserves and to a a dividend, sometimes some goes to charity.

Clearly the author just copied and pasted from the year before (or before that) when there was a profit, because "destinazione della perdita" is quite a conjuring trick. It should be "Proposta per la copertura della perdita di esercizio", Which would be "proposal to cover losses for the year". You can either 1) translate the mistake, 2) phone the client 3) correct the mistake in translation. I would probably phone the client.

Note from asker:
Thank you very much for all your precious help today, Jim. The only worry I have is that there was a loss, not a profit. How can I word that, please?
