French term

depuis peu

Non-PRO French to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters fashion
Good morning,

"Depuis peu, vous avez aussi l’occasion d’admirer les chaussures de la marque X dans un écrin raffiné de 70m2, sis à la rue .."

Only recently you have also had the chance to Brand X shoes in a 70m2 delicate treasure chest at the rue ..

I'm having doubts at how this sentence sounds

Thank you for any help :)

@Gilla thanks for the advice, I have changed it :)
Evans (X) Oct 31, 2011:
@ loulou I agree with your verb use, if you are going to use "recently...", it is correct in English and one of those cases where verb use differs greatly from the French. But I would not translate "écrin" here with treasure chest which is OTT in English. Steve's option works well or you could use a word like "setting".
Louisa Tchaicha (asker) Oct 31, 2011:
@Pascale yes I am aware of that but it seems wrong to write "recently and then put the present "recently, you can..."
Louisa Tchaicha (asker) Oct 31, 2011:
I have a feeling I may need to insert "may" in there:

Only recently you may also have had the chance to admire

oops have forgotten the verb in the sentence provided!
It says "vous avez l'occasion" so it's not "you have had" but just "you have". The rest of your sentence in English doesn't sound OK to me.

"We have also very recently started showcasing....."

I'd turn it round like that.
Note from asker:
Thank you both, unfortunately I cannot use "we" as this is a magazine article about a high-end brand
