Italiano term

incolonnature

Da Italiano a Inglese Tecnico/Meccanico
Hi again
I am struggling to decipher the meaning of this word in the following context (or indeed in any context to speak of):

"Eventuali incolonnature all'interno dello stampo (premilamiera, estrattori, ecc., in cui non e' possibile un accesso immediato e visibile, dovranno prevedere boccole di scorrimento in lega di bronzo-alluminio con inserti in grafite (conformi ISO 9448)"

Any ideas?
TIA
Derek

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to you both for your time and trouble. Gary's proposal penned in Boston (thanks) seems to me to be good linguistically, but marred by some drawbacks on the technical side because it is more relevent to a typesetting context and, perhaps more importantly, the "thing" described in my text is, to my mind, a concrete noun rather than a state or condition. As for what the "thing" is, I remain in considerable doubt, but after much humming and hawing, a certain amount of head-scratching, and the utterance of a variety of expletives manufactured in Birmingham (GB), I used the word "pillars" (thinking along the same lines as mammetta49 - thanks). I am very unsure of this solution however, so the translation was delivered with a note that will, I hope, save me from recrimination at some future date. Maximum respect Derek"

"alignment"?

Hi Derek,

I tried doing a Websearch on this term, and all I came up with was the header to a link that, when clicked on, came up with an error message. Nevertheless, the header information that did come up read as follows:

"Racconti & Letteratura ... cioè da tutti quegli orpelli quali giustificazioni, incolonnature,..."

So given this one context, at least, could your text have to do with a description of some type of "alignment"?

Hope this helps - good luck! Gary/Boston ;-)
