I can understand the sense of the term, but am still looking for the exact term. If 'elements probants' is 'audit evidence', I am wondering how to translate 'titres probants' in the case of would-be creditors in a bankruptcy case being required to submit such evidence. I thought it might be something like 'evidential claim' or 'claim with supporting evidence/documentation', but don't seem to find these terms widely used. The 'titre' is obviously the claim of entitlement, or title, or whatever you want to call it...but I have drawn a total blank on the term 'titres probants' which appears repeatedly in my document.
Here is my context:
Thanks for any help!

I am taking the (not quite illegal) step of posting twice here because my first answer only dealt with déclaration de créance
Just to clarify:
déclaration de créance would be a proof of debt (in a prescribed format)
titres probants would be supporting documents (e.g. invoices)

IMO.
The term "titres probants" is not much present on the web, once "noblesse" is eliminated from the search. But I did find the following reference (too good not to quote):

: This 1-2 page form sounds more like the "déclaration de créance":
