German term

Asensibilität

German to English Medical Medical (general)
Hallo,

Besten Dank.

loss of (skin) sensation

It's not sensibility, it's not sensitivity, it's sensation.

The ability to detect touch, pain, heat.

asensibility

I don't think this is very commonly used in English either - but I did find a medical reference with the word:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8438199

"In 12 patients, we found reduced areola sensibility; however, asensibility was not observed. "

numbness

A synonym of this word is Gefühllosigkeit. In the context, I think it could simply be numbness. You could also say "lack of feeling" or maybe even "insensibility".
