Direction Communication
Can anybody advise me on translating the above in a business and finance context?
It appears near 'Département Juridique' and 'Département Achats'. Should it be translated as 'Communications Division' 'Communications Directorate' or something else?

Proposed translations
Communications Management, or department,
"Direction" means roughly what Americans call "senior management", and words based on the word gérer refer to middle management, or the manager of a small business, hotel, etc.
I don't think you can get this 100% the same in both languages because corporate hierarchies are different in France and the english speaking companies.
The reason that they used "département" in one place and Direction in the other is to reflect that communications is higher in the corporate hierarchy and is headed by a "directeur" which is senior management, rather than a gérant which is middle management.
I just don't think that there is US English that reflects this exact situation... I think that's why your having trouble finding it.
Also, private companies can make up their own names for department and do. There's no law as to corporate titles or department names.
Try to google the company and find a bilingual website that might contain what they have already called the department in ENglish.
Failing that, put department and relay the above explanation and let the client choose the term.

Also, you show to be in Britain, let me again stress that these titles are significantly different in Britain. Maybe a UK base answerer will answer and provide insight. I haven't lived in Britain in years and things are different now.
