¿Por qué llora si no le pasa nada?

Non-PRO Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Baby care
Hello!
I am doing a translation about newborn baby care, and I have found in there lots of questions such as: ¿por qué llora? ¿por qué no sabe dormir solo? ¿Por qué no come bien? ¿por qué llora si no le pasa nada?
In Spanish is too easy but I don't know how to translate it in English, because I must write a subject.
I have found lots of parallel texts where they used always "she" as subject.
Could you help me please?
Thank you so much!

Another solution: leave out the pronoun. Canaria’s answer solves the sentence you posted. Here are some ideas for other questions: Why won’t my/the baby sleep alone? Why isn’t my/the baby eating? Here you can see some more examples by native English speakers "in the wild": http://www.google.com/search?q="why * my baby

Newborn babies can be referred to as 'it'.

Why is s/he crying for no reason?

I believe this is the most idiomatic way to put it.
Peer comment(s):

neutral jack_speak : If the baby is crying, the baby has a reason. Babies do not cry without a good reason (hunger, heat, mosquitos). The point here is we don't know the baby's reason for crying and we are asking what could the reason be? The reason exists but is not obvious.

why is the baby crying if there's nothing wrong?

you could use 'the baby' or 's/he'.

agree liz askew : or just "baby" - I have heard midwives use this, i.e. without the definite article.

Why does my baby cry even when nothing seems to be wrong?

First of all, I need to say that the person who suggests "it" is wrong - caring parents NEVER call their baby "it."

¿por qué llora? - why do babies cry? / why does my baby cry?
¿por qué no sabe dormir solo? - why won't my baby sleep alone?
¿Por qué no come bien? - why doesn't my baby eat right?
¿por qué llora si no le pasa nada? - why does my baby cry even when nothing seems to be wrong?

Another option for ¿Por qué no come bien? = Why doesn't my baby want to eat?

You could always say

why is your baby/baby crying?
