agree simon tanner : actually looks like a calque from the English (the contracts/torts division is also particularly English). Perhaps the research project is in diritti comparato. In Italian they usually talk of illecito civile when they mean what we call tort

agree Mr Murray (X) : About 10 years ago my Italian law students seemed confused by the word 'tort,' but more recently, they all seem to be using it as opposed to an Italian alternative. [or Maybe my pronunciation has improved.]
