French term

suivi

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals molecular biology
'Nom: XX, Jour: suivi de STI', also 'suivi de HHT', 'suivi de BMS'.

The acronyms appear to be drug names related to Glivec (imatinib).

This is in relation to trials of Glivec, and are at the head of various reports on the medication.

Is it : 'Name: XX, Day: following admin of STI', or 'the day after admin of STI', or 'followup to STI regime/administration'?

Any ideas?

Thanks, Peter

Discussion

SJLD Feb 22, 2010:
"acronyms appear to be drug names" - best to confirm, I would have thought.

HHT = homoharringtonine
BMS = dasatinib (Sprycel)
STI = imatinib mesylate (Glivec)

Not much context to go on. Could also mean "drug XXX continued".
Travelin Ann Feb 22, 2010:
Suivi is often used for follow-up, which makes sense, IMO, for drug trials. Does that work for you?
