Spanish term

Fiscalía

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Tourism & Travel company doc - Costa Rica
I know that this would usually be something in the lines of "Prosecutor's Office" but in this case it seems to be in a company:

"Constatación de quórum; aprobacion de la agenda, informes…, Elección de la Junta Directiva y Fiscal… Autorización para protocolizar esta acta.
...
Se reorganiza la Fiscalía y se elige como Fiscal al senõr ..., mayor, casado, Ingeniero, cédula ..., vecino de San José."

I thought it might be "legal department" or something similar but I'm a bit thrown by the fact that this new "Fiscal" is an engineer by profession.

Thanks!

Thank you very much, Eileen! :)
agree Veronica Barzelatto : Agreed and remember that in Central America using "Ingeniero", is like the other favorite "Licenciado, it doesn't necessarily mean he is an engineer. Could be in this case, but you never know."

Hope this helps :)

In England it would be :

The Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for criminal cases beyond the investigation, which is the job of the police. This involves giving advice to the police on charges to bring, and being responsible for authorising all but a very few simple charges (such as begging), and preparing and presenting cases for court, both in magistrates' courts and, increasingly, the Crown Court.

Thank you Hazel for your note and I see I am wrong. I've given my agree to María Marta as it seems to be exactly what you are looking for :)
Note from asker:
Hi Eileen. Thanks for your answer. However, in my case this seems to be part of a company, which is why I don´t think anything in the lines of Public Prosecution Service or District Attorney's Office can be right.
