French term

le RF

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Reinvoicing documentation
Context: large Powerpoint presentation describing reinvoicing methods and processes for a major French industrial company with subsidiaries all over the world. This appears on the last page, which lists the cotractual documentation, as follows:
___________________________________________
- Documentation fiscale
- Contrat de Management Fees
- Justification des différences entre le RF et le réel (si nécessaire)
- Factures
___________________________________________

It could be company-specific and I will probably have to check with the client, but thought it worth posting this up given that I can't get hold of the client until tomorrow afternoon (Singapore time) and I have to have it finished and submitted tomorrow evening! Any ideas welcome - many thanks!

Discussion

Kerensa Cracknell (asker) Aug 30, 2009:
Yes, this makes most sense in the context. There are one or two other English financial terms dotted around the document so it could very well be 'franglais'!
Julie Barber Aug 30, 2009:
A thought What comes to mind is the variance between forecasted income and actual income, although not sure how it would fit with RF unless it's franglais....or specific to the company! Revenue forecast?!

règlement financier

Just a suggestion, but here's a definition with regard to the EU:

"règlement financier : il est adopté à l'unanimité par le Conseil après consultation du Parlement européen et de la Cour des comptes. Il définit les règles de l'établissement et de l'exécution du budget général des Communautés européennes."
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I really don't think that would make any sense in the context as given.

le revenu fiscal

This is what I think it means in this context

One English translation would be "taxable income"
Peer comment(s):

agree Radu DANAILA : would you put it in Eglish, so I can vote for it?

RF

"RF vs. actual (if necessary)". Internal company abbreviation --> do not translate.

Can't do any harm at this point.:-)
Note from asker:
Thanks - that's more or less what I did in the end, based on other feedback and the discussion entry above! I suggested a couple of options to the agency and that it might be an internal company abbreviation, sent it back and am waiting to hear back after they put it to the client. The ball's in their court!
