this has come up in a list of practice areas of a law firm, in relation to companies in difficulty, restructuing and turnaround
From my research it appears to be a department of a bank that deals with companies with problems paying their loans - abut I am not sure - any ideas ? special affairs/cases doesn't seem to give anything in English

French banks often have a department called the "ASR", or Affaires spéciales et Recouvrement', or troubled loans and collections.

I am also not sure whether we are looking for an expression that is appropriate for a bank or for a law firm. My response was directed at a law firm but I am no longer sure if that is what is needed.
