Italian term

determina

Italian to English Law/Patents
Morning folks,
I'm thinking of translating this as "resolution", but I can't find any confirmation for my inspired guesswork:
"In particolare, la Determina del Direttore Generale del Ministero delle Comunicazioni del 2 ottobre 2002 ha stabilito..."
Any ideas?
TIA
Derek

Resolution

You're right.
Have a look at the links, though I can't find it in any glossary or dictionary, it can't be nothing else.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for your assistance Antonella and everyone else who chipped in here. I confirm that, although the word may not be a noun in "reglar'talian" it was boldly used as one twice in my text. I reckon all your suggestions: "resolution", "decision" and "deliberation", "determination" and "conclusion" are valid alternatives here. Respectfulness legion, Derek"

I think yours is a good guess. Although I cannot find "determina" as a noun in my Italian dictionaries, the meaning is there (and is confirmed by "ha stabilito" further on)
