Hi Mamifera. I believe that the term refers to the maginal notes in the document being referred to. Here mare some examples:

The problem that I have now is a section at the end of the document, but right before the signature from the Oficial of the Civil Register, that says "MARGINALES".

Supongo que quiere decir "Notas marginales", pero solo puedo suponer.

I assume that means "Marginal notes", but it's the only thing that I can do: suppose.
