Discussion

Jack Dunwell Feb 26, 2008:
Bk. It's worth hearing you. Are you saying that "sensible" could only relate to the feelings of a person, rather than an to an insensate organisation or situation? And that this is changing? I have for example " La crise est le plus sensible dans le Nord
rkillings Feb 26, 2008:
"sensitive" is now suitable. Like it or not, this adjective's meaning has been extended in usage to displace the sensitivity from the person to the person's employer. The process is a bit more advanced in French than in English, but it looks unstoppable.

we call "vulnerable professions" some risky jobs/professions, ex: public professions (police, judiciary, government, medical professions, transportation offences...
neutral Julie Barber : I looked on the net and I do think that your answer works in some cases - the 'risk' was sometimes redundancy, not just a risky job. I really think that it depends on each employers reasons for calling it 'sensible'
