I found this translation in a LEO forum discussion (reference below). The work is either sent directly to the employee on holiday or simply put on hold.

Although the referenced discussion is about a slightly different phrase, the penultimate contributor actually translates "auf Wiedervorlage legen", and the translation of "put on hold" seems to fit in this context.

Wiedervorlage can be translated as resubmission but I would rewrite and say something like "the emails...are resubmitted later".

agree Carola Stone : klingt gut, besser als "put on hold". Wiedervorlage ist einfach nur verschoben zum nächsten guten Termin.
