French term

Droit Approfondi du travail

French to English Other Law (general)
Could it simply be ' Advanced Labor Law' ?

Mr xx est enseignant au titre d’assistant de Madame yy à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles. Il est chargé des Exercices Pratiques attachés au cours de Droit Approfondi du travail.
My try:
Mr xx is an assistant teacher working for Mrs. yy at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles”. He is in charge of the practical exercices attached to the course on Advanced Labor Law.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Julie Barber

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

veratek Jul 19, 2007:
"labor law for advanced students" could very well be an introduction to labor law or and advanced labor law course, there is no qualifier for the course, only for the students.
veratek Jul 19, 2007:
Graham: "it comes down to the same thing," - disagree. A student is not the same entity as the course or its difficulty and, as an example, in many scenarios, a first-year std can take advanced courses if they are qualified .
Graham macLachlan Jul 19, 2007:
There's nothing wrong with asking questions, I do, and some have been really obvious!
Valosh (asker) Jul 19, 2007:
Thank you for the advice Graham, the reason why I always post my own try is because I feel I need to show that I am doing my own research before I turn for help!!
Graham macLachlan Jul 19, 2007:
sounds good to me, a word of advice, if you answer your own question you will always have someone agreeing with you (like me!) even if you are wrong, it is best just to ask the question and see what comes up :-)

Labour law for advanced students

I suppose it is really the students who are advanced not the law... (I know, splitting hairs!)

Scholars and advanced students of labour law and human rights. ... Edited by Philip Alston, Professor of Law, New York University Law School ...

Peer comment(s):

neutral veratek : the reference is not to the students but to the course/subject difficulty, which then entails adv students, but it's not directly referring to the students

it comes down to the same thing, I'd call it metonymy
neutral Julie Barber : agree with Vera
