English to German Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Supply contract

3. Should any of the provisions of this Contract or any provisions subsequently inserted herein,
be or become null void in whole or in part, or should a gap in this Contract become evident,
the validity of the remaining provisions hereof shall not be affected thereby. In lieu of such
null and void provision, or in order to fill the gap, a valid and practicable regulation shall be
deemed agreed that in legal and economic terms comes closest to that which the parties intended
or would have intended in accordance with the purpose of this Contract if they had
considered the point at the time of conclusion of this Contract. If the nullity of a provision is
due to a *degree* of performance or time (period or deadline) laid down in this provision, then
the provision is deemed to be agreed upon within a legally permissible *degree* coming closest
to the original *degree*.
