Creo que se refiere a que ahora los recursos,etc. se dedican a construir las marcas, en lugar de malgastarlas en negocios en vías de desaparición. - De no ser esto, falta un apóstrofe en businesses, y querría decir:
en lugar de las marcas de empresas en vías de desaparición.

As I read your sentence, the meaning is that the company has stopped shutting down businesses (that perhaps are not core business compared to the company's strategy or businesses that were not giving enough ROI), and the CEO needs to reassure the employees that the worst part of the process is over.
Thus, the ES sentence could be (and this is for your inspiration) something like this:

"Ahora el proceso de ceder negocios ha terminado, y podemos en adelante concentrarnos en la construcción de nuestras marcas."

(I am not even close to being fluent in ES, but maybe a better verb than 'ceder' would be 'abandonar'?).
